Kelly Zevenbergen is a Senior Appraiser with C-X. Since 1988, Kelly has appraised a wide variety of agricultural, commercial, industrial and residential properties throughout California. Properties appraised include wineries; premium vineyards and estate residences; almond, pistachio and walnut orchards; all types of packing, processing and storage facilities; all types of tree fruit and citrus; nursery and greenhouse facilities; and all types of open land from irrigated cropland for fresh vegetables to natural grazing land. A significant portion of Kelly’s recent projects have been focused on the rapidly developing Central Coast wine region of California. Appraisals for these projects are typically complex in nature and frequently involve developing prospective market values, or “as if mature” values for vineyards and “as if complete” values for related wineries and estate residences.
Over the course of his career, Kelly has performed appraisals for a large variety of clients, including nearly all providers of agricultural financing; publicly and privately-held corporations, complex partnerships and family-owned operations; major investors including insurance companies, pension funds and REITSs; as well as federal, state and local governmental entities. He is highly experienced in performing fully FIRREA and USPAP-compliant appraisals for financing, purchase and sale transactions (including purchase price allocations), estate and tax planning and settlement, foreclosure and bankruptcy, and divorce and partnership dissolution.
Kelly graduated from California State University, Fresno and is certified by the state of California as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. In addition to his appraisal activities, Kelly has recently expanded his business interests into winemaking and distribution. His first vintage of KZ Cellars wine will be released in late 2014, and will consist of Syrah, Grenache and Rhone varietal blends. (See photo to the left.)
