Contract Position Opening:  Professional Report Editing
Location: Portland Office

 
Correia-Xavier, Incorporated (C-X) is an appraisal firm specializing in the valuation of agricultural and rural properties throughout the West Coast. We are based in Fresno, California, and are currently establishing a satellite location for our report production process in Portland, Oregon. This is a short-term assignment (3-6 months) in our Portland office, with the strong possibility of a long-term contract of one year or more for the right candidate. Daily responsibilities are centered on proofing our professional appraisal reports for consistent content, grammar, formatting, and mathematical accuracy. This contract assignment requires 25-35 hours per week, with flexible scheduling allowed from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We offer a competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.  
 
A complete workspace with desk, computer and Internet access will be provided. After training and the initial contract term is complete, a long-term candidate will have the option to expand his/her flexible scheduling to evenings and weekends. 
 
Position Requirements:
  •  Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Excellent written communication skills; proficient in reading, spelling and grammar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word; experience with Adobe Acrobat a plus.
  • Proficient in basic math, including multiplication, sums, and percentages.
  • Prior editing experience required; technical report editing experience preferred.
  • Capable of working well under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Ability to interact with professional appraisal staff via email regarding report edits.
  • Ensure all documents meet the company’s quality control standards.
  • Ensure all documents also meet the respective client’s written contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Professional demeanor and attitude.
