Position Overview
The Editor position is an integral part of our agricultural appraisal team, working closely with research, appraisal, and executive personnel to edit, format, and deliver polished and error-free appraisal reports to our clients.
Job Description
Agricultural real estate appraisal reports can be complex, with extensive text and a variety of calculations based on known facts and assumptions. Editors verify calculations, challenge assumptions based on information contained in the report, highlight inconsistencies for appraiser follow-up, and make suggestions to clarify information conveyed to clients. A thorough editing improves the quality of our reports and enhances our reputation as the leading agricultural appraisal firm in the state.

This is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00. On-site work is preferred to enhance interaction with team members.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or other related field. A general interest in California agriculture is helpful.

Editors also:
- Verify required supporting documentation needed for an appraisal is included, clerically accurate. and consistent with material throughout the report.
- Verify client requirements have been met.
- Keep abreast of changing industry guidelines and company policies and ensure all documents meet the company’s quality control standards.
- Electronically assemble and disseminate final appraisal reports to clients. On occasion, when a client desires a hard copy of a report, an editor will reproduce, bind and ship printed reports to clients.
- Other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or other related field. A general interest in California agriculture is helpful.
- Excellent written communication skills; proficient in reading, spelling and grammar.
- Technical report editing experience preferred but meaningful course work can be a substitute.
- Strong abilities in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Capable of working well under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and prioritizing multiple projects.
