Joe Hackett

Joe is experienced in the appraisal of a variety of agricultural properties throughout the state of California. Some of the property types Joe has appraised an include dairy and feedlot facilities; vineyard and winery operations; food processing and cold storage facilities; tree fruit and citrus orchards; walnut, pistachio, pecan and almond orchard developments; huller and dryer facilities; various open land properties (including those suitable for permanent plantings and rice ground), large cattle ranches; and rural residences. His experience with valuing ag properties include completing fully USPAP and FIRREA-compliant appraisals for various client types, and valuing complex properties, including using Discounted Cash Flow analyses to value immature permanent plantings, leased fee estates and leasehold estates.
Joe comes from a family with a long history of cattle and sheep ranching in Northern California. He was raised in the Sacramento Valley town of Live Oak, where his family still raises sheep. Growing up in the heart of the Feather River basin, Joe worked for several local farmers in the tree nut and stone fruit industries throughout his high school years. He was also an active member of the Future Farmers of America. In 2012, Joe graduated from California State University, Chico, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business. Prior to becoming a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, Joe was an appraisal intern with Farm Credit West. |
