Although the number of cattle and calves slaughtered for 1994 and 1995 has risen slightly, the overall general trend in the number of cattle and calves slaughtered in California has been on the decline. If the ten year historical cycle holds, an increasing trend in the number of cattle and calves should occur throughout the later part of the 1990's.
